Questions for MDGOP Chairman candidates regarding Republican NATIONAL Committee policy issues

The following are questions for MDGOP Chairman candidates regarding Republican NATIONAL Committee (RNC) policy issues which the Chairman would or should take a national policy position on as one of our representatives at the NATIONAL level.

1.  Why would you - or not - strongly oppose any efforts which facilitate the legalization of same-sex marriage at the national level?

2.  Why would you - or not - support any "gun control" compromises which infringe upon the individual right to keep and bear arms, even in the most annoyingly minor ways?

3.  Why would you - or not - support the thorough investigation and prosecution of violations of our constitutional rights and civil liberties committed under both the Bush/Cheney and current Obama/Biden administrations?

I am Augustus Alzona, a humble immigrant from Asia, a Maryland resident taxpayer for over four decades, a business owner, citizen activist and community organizer from the limousine liberal occupied territory of Montgomery County.  I am also a former, two term member of the county’s Committee on Hate / Violence.

Mr. Chairman, honorable members of the Judiciary Committee, I urge you to vote down these gun control bills - especially for the following two reasons.

1.  They are inherently racist in nature and application. 

2.  They are anti-Catholic, anti-Christian.

No. 1 – They are inherently racist in nature and application.

During the infamous 1992 L.A. (Los Angeles) Riots, after the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Dept.) withdrew from the south central district, barbaric hordes of thugs assaulted and killed innocent civilians, as well as looted and burned down several local minority-owned businesses.  The decent law-abiding working people of South Central were basically abandoned by the police who had withdrawn to protect the more affluent areas of Hollywood, Beverly Hills, etc.

When the well-armed lawless thugs attacked “Koreatown” they were prevented from reaping mayhem and plunder there by my fellow Asian American businessmen wielding so-called assault weapons and other semi-automatic, homeland security devices with high-capacity magazines.

These gun control bills would inhibit, if not outright ban, my fellow law-abiding Asian Americans from possessing those types of homeland security devices, especially those high-capacity magazines, which are needed when facing multiple assailants carrying same.

No. 2 – These violate my human rights as a Catholic Christian.

As pertains to self-defense and weapons, I hereby quote from a recent translation from Latin, of relevant passages from the Justinian Code, a legal pillar of Western Civilization.  (Footnote 1)

“”I. SELF DEFENSE

Roman law was very protective of the individual’s right to defend himself and his property from violence, whether offered by a thief on a darkened highway or a soldier in search of plunder.

A provision attributed to the late fourth century A.D. reads:

We grant to all persons the unrestricted power to defend themselves (liberam resistendi cunctis tribuimus facultatem), so that it is proper to subject anyone, whether a private person or a soldier, who trespasses upon fields at night in search of plunder, or lays by busy roads plotting to assault passers-by, to immediate punishment in accordance with the authority granted to all (permissa cuicumque licentia dignus ilico supplicio subiugetur). Let him suffer the death which he threatened and incur that which he intended (Codex Justinianus (“CJ”) 3.27.1). 

The legislator then explains the rationale for this provision, stating, “For it is better to meet the danger at the time, than to obtain legal redress (vindicare) after one’s death.”

And he concludes:

We therefore permit you to seek your own revenge (ultionem) and we join to this decree those situations which a legal judgment would be too late to remedy (quod serum est punire iudicio).

Thus, let no one shrink from facing (parcat) a soldier, whom it is fitting to challenge with a weapon (telo), just as it is fitting to challenge a thief (A.D. 391).

This provision recognizes not only an individual’s right to self defense, but explicitly permits the private use of a weapon (telum) for the purpose of countering an assailant as well.“”

These bills severely inhibit, as well as subvert my human rights, as a Catholic Christian, to self-defense as codified in Codex Justinianus (Justinian Code) – human rights laws which even predate the U.S. Constitution and the founding of this country.

Please vote down all bills which inhibit my constitutional and civil rights.

In Montgomery County, nonaffiliated voters passed registered Republicans for the first time in December 2010. In the latest report, there were 333,118 Democrats, 123,404 Republicans and 133,523 nonaffiliated voters.

Augustus Alzona, who served on the Montgomery County Republican Central Committee from 1998 to 2002 and again from 2006 to 2010, said he was not surprised.

From his observations, voter registration outreach efforts by the Montgomery County GOP initially helped attract new voters, including minorities in the increasingly diverse county, Alzona said.

But then, money raised was sent to help the top of the campaign tickets and less was spent on local retail political efforts, he said.

That was a major reason why the number of nonaffiliated voters eventually passed the number of registered Republicans, he said.

Republican numbers have continued to decline in Montgomery County, while the number of Democrats and nonaffiliated voters grows, he said.

Alzona, who remains a Republican, expressed frustration that as a socially conservative Catholic, he believes too many Republicans are supporting same-sex marriage. This could lead other social conservatives to leave the party and either become independents or find another party to join, he said.

“One of my pet peeves was the focus was solely on fundraising and not on the grass-roots fundamentals of registering voters,” Alzona said.

THE (former) EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

- or how the failed Ehrlich/Kane legacy campaign punished Maryland’s conservatives, other minorities, plus Alex Mooney and former Brian Murphy supporters.

These injustices occurred at the 2011 Maryland Republican Party’s Spring Convention down in Ocean City, Maryland last weekend, May 6^th-7^th, 2011.

The following is based on my onsite observations as a proxy holding member of the Montgomery County Republican Central Committee and a veteran conservative volunteer activist in the GOP.

Using Saul Alinksy/Democrat/union thug type tactics, Republican leaders of a highly prejudicial 2/3rds majority of voting delegates at that convention voted to include a new, highly discriminatory, permanent voting scheme into the state Party by-laws.

There was a successful, rather naked power grab, which summarily disenfranchised minority Republicans in the state’s three largest jurisdictions.  The remnants of the former Ehrlich/Kane gang, which controlled both the State Party and local Montgomery County Republican Party since 2002, managed to accomplish the following during last weekend’s convention:

1.  Alienated the new conservative majority of Montgomery County Central Committee members, elected in the fall of 2010.  (Note that true conservative, gubernatorial candidate Ellen Sauerbrey did receive 41.33% of the general election vote in Montgomery County in the nineties, versus “moderate” Bob Ehrlich’s 30.51% in 2010 - debunking the myth that conservatives cannot do relatively well here).

2.  Further marginalized the local Ehrlich moderates, who had worked so hard in 2010 to mitigate Ehrlich’s lame reputation among Montgomery County voters as a whole.  At the convention, Republicans from the state’s largest counties were falsely accused of not having worked hard to enough to “produce” statewide victories for our lame 2010 statewide candidates.  Truth be told, the responsibility for the statewide Ehrlich/Kane ticket failures of the 2010 election should rest solely on the failed leadership and paid operatives of both their local, as well as statewide campaigns, many of whom still have jobs and remain in power at the local, as well as statewide levels to this day.  We know who these people are.  Do you, too?

3.  Severely reduced the power of Tea Party Activists, including constitutionalists, from the state’s largest jurisdictions.

4.  Reduced the support, of both suburban moderates and conservatives for the non-partisan, non-ideological campaigns against illegal immigration (e.g. the anti in-state tuition for illegal immigrants petition).

5.  Have made it less likely that “Rule 11” reform will ever be incorporated into the by-laws.

6.  Have divided, not united, the Maryland Republican Party even more so, by the very public insults hurled at Baltimore City, Prince Georges and Montgomery County Republicans.

Maybe the time has come for Republicans from the state’s three largest jurisdictions to consider seceding from the new Confederacy of Maryland?  That unholy confederacy includes some tyrants from certain county delegations who hate Montgomery County.
